Doodle Sizes
Here at Dawgy Doodles we know that every family and individual has their own ideal puppy in mind. A new puppy will be so much more than just a puppy, it will be a lifelong member of your family. Size and color can be a very important factor when choosing your new family member. For this reason, we have chosen to breed three sizes of Doodles: Standard (large), Medium and Miniature.

Responsible Dog Breeders
Just as with any other profession, there are dog breeders out there who are irresponsible and unethical. Avoiding these irresponsible breeders can be tricky if you don't do your research. Luckily, a vast majority of dog breeders conduct their business responsibly, with great care and pride. Usually you can tell the difference between the irresponsible and the responsible dog breeds just by tapping into their knowledge about the dogs they are selling, or in the case of an irresponsible breeder, their lack of knowledge.
First Time Dog Ownership
Being a first time dog owner can be a scary and overwhelming experience. There are many breeds to choose from, each with their own specific needs. You will also need to purchase everything necessary to properly care for them at home. Not to mention the need to train them so they behave properly. Don't let all of this deter you from getting a dog though, having a dog is one of the greatest experiences that life has to offer.
Choosing the Right Dog for Your Lifestyle
Getting a dog is like getting a new family member, it is a huge commitment and investment. Instead of just choosing the dog you want when you go to a shelter, there are a number of things you should consider before you get a dog. If you choose a dog that will thrive with your lifestyle, then you and the dog will both be much happier and better off.
Shedding and Allergies
Are you allergic to dogs or do you have family members who are? There's nothing worse than wanting a family dog but not being able to have one due to allergies. Fortunately, you may have options. Doodle puppies tend to have hypo-allergenic coats. Since Goldendoodles and Labradoodles are bred with Poodles, the hypo-allergenic trait is passed along to their puppies. As long-time Doodle breeders, we love seeing the joy these puppies bring to so many families who thought they'd never be able to own one.
Doodle Intelligence
One of the most important personality traits you want to consider when selecting your next puppy is breed intelligence. As breeders, we hear stories all the time about rambunctious, poorly behaved dogs who don't listen and learn. What many people don't know is that dog breeds have different levels of intelligence. Having an intelligent dog breed can save you many hours of training and headaches.
Losing a Dog - When or If to Replace Them
Having a dog die can be an emotionally devastating experience. We often become very close with our canine friends, considering them as part of our family. A question many people ask themselves after the loss of a pet is whether or not to replace the one lost with a new dog. This is a question where the answer varies from person to person. Some couldn't fathom getting a new dog, others know they want another one but are unsure about when.

Responsibilities of Dog Ownership
Many people see a puppy and think, "How cute - I should get one." But they often don't take the time to plan out the logistics of caring for one. Puppies need more than just attention because they are cute. They need to be properly raised so when they grow up they are well behaved dogs. If your dog isn't well behaved, any mischief it causes will need to be fixed by you (and you will be liable for it)!
